Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

These Author Guidelines outline the requirements and standards for submitting manuscripts to SCHOLAR. Authors are expected to read and comply with these guidelines prior to submission.

1. Submission Requirements
1.1 Manuscript Originality
Submitted manuscripts must:
Be original work
Not have been previously published
Not be under consideration by another journal or publisher

Submission to SCHOLAR implies confirmation that all authors approve the submission and agree with the journal’s policies.

1.2 Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should generally include:
Title
Abstract (150–250 words)
Keywords (3–6)
Main text
References
Tables and figures (if applicable)

2. Ethics Compliance
Authors must ensure that their research complies with recognized ethical standards.
Where applicable, manuscripts must include:
Ethical approval statements (for human or animal research)
Informed consent confirmation
Disclosure of funding sources
Disclosure of potential conflicts of interest

3. Citation & Referencing Style
SCHOLAR requires authors to use the APA citation style (latest edition) consistently throughout the manuscript.
Authors are responsible for:
Accuracy of citations
Completeness of reference lists
Proper attribution of ideas, data, figures, and tables

In-text citations and reference lists must strictly follow APA guidelines.

4. Originality & Plagiarism Declaration
By submitting to SCHOLAR, authors declare that:
The manuscript is their original work
All sources are appropriately cited
The manuscript does not contain plagiarized material

All submissions are subject to plagiarism screening prior to peer review and may be re-evaluated post-publication if concerns arise.

5. Language & Presentation
Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English/ Arabic.
Authors are responsible for language quality prior to submission
SCHOLAR may request language revisions as part of the review process

6. Submission Agreement
Submission of a manuscript constitutes agreement with:

Article Processing Charges 

Authors will be required to formally confirm copyright and licensing terms after acceptance and before publication.

7. Article Processing Charges (APCs) Policy
SCHOLAR applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) for each manuscript accepted for publication.
The APC supports the costs associated with:
Editorial management and peer review administration
Online publication and hosting
Digital archiving and preservation
Open-access dissemination under a Creative Commons license
Editorial decisions are made independently of any financial considerations.

Waivers and Reductions
SCHOLAR is committed to supporting equitable access to scholarly publishing.
APC waivers or reductions may be considered on a case-by-case basis, particularly for authors from under-resourced institutions or regions.
Waiver requests must be submitted after acceptance and before publication.
The ability to pay an APC does not influence editorial decisions.

Transparency Statement
The APC policy is publicly available and clearly communicated to authors in advance, in accordance with:

Best practices in open-access publishing

8. Editorial Discretion
The editorial team reserves the right to:
Desk-reject manuscripts outside the journal’s scope
Request revisions
Make final publication decisions based on scholarly merit

9. PRESERVATION
Archiving & Preservation Policy
SCHOLAR is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published scholarly content.

Digital Preservation
All published articles and associated metadata are preserved through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a trusted digital archiving service developed by the Public Knowledge Project for journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS).

Long-Term Access Guarantee
Through PKP PN, SCHOLAR guarantees that:
Published articles will remain accessible even in the event of journal website failure, data loss, or discontinuation of the journal.
Content integrity is protected against unauthorized alteration or corruption.
Scholarly records are preserved for long-term academic reference.

Responsibility and Transparency
SCHOLAR regularly ensures that its preservation systems are active and aligned with best practices in digital archiving and scholarly publishing ethics.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Privacy Statement

SCHOLAR: Interdisciplinary Research Journal ("SCHOLAR") is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of its authors, reviewers, editors, readers, and other users. The Journal collects and processes personal information solely for the purpose of managing scholarly publishing activities and delivering journal services in accordance with applicable privacy laws and recognized publishing best practices.

1. Information We Collect

The Journal may collect the following information from users:

* Institutional affiliation

* ORCID iD (if provided)
* Country of residence
* Professional biography (if submitted)
* User account credentials
* Manuscript files and supplementary materials
* Editorial correspondence and peer review communications

Additional technical information, such as IP addresses, browser type, device information, and access logs, may be collected automatically by the journal platform to support website security, performance, and system administration.

2. Purpose of Data Collection

Personal information is collected exclusively to support the editorial and publishing process, including:

* User registration and account management
* Manuscript submission and editorial processing
* Double-blind peer review
* Editorial decision-making
* Copyediting, production, and publication
* DOI registration and article metadata management
* Communication with authors, reviewers, editors, and readers
* Journal administration and quality assurance

Personal information will not be used for commercial marketing purposes.

3. Editorial Confidentiality

All manuscripts submitted to SCHOLAR are treated as confidential documents.

Editors, reviewers, editorial staff, and production personnel are expected to maintain strict confidentiality throughout the editorial and peer review process. Manuscripts, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, and unpublished research findings will not be disclosed to unauthorized individuals except where required by law or necessary to investigate allegations of research misconduct.

4. Reviewer Confidentiality

SCHOLAR operates a Double-Blind Peer Review system.

The identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process. Reviewer identities are not disclosed to authors unless the Journal explicitly adopts an alternative review model for a specific publication, with the informed consent of all parties involved.

Reviewers are expected to:

* Treat submitted manuscripts as confidential documents.
* Not share or distribute manuscript content.
* Not use unpublished information for personal or professional advantage.
* Permanently delete manuscript files after completing the review unless otherwise instructed by the Journal.

5. Publication of Personal Information

Upon publication, the following information may become publicly available as part of the scholarly record:

* Author names
* Institutional affiliations
* ORCID iDs (if provided)
* Corresponding author contact information
* Funding acknowledgments
* Conflict of Interest declarations
* Author contribution statements (where applicable)

No additional personal information will be disclosed without the author's consent unless required by law.

6. Cookies and Website Analytics

The SCHOLAR website, powered by Open Journal Systems (OJS), may use cookies and similar technologies to:

* Maintain secure user sessions
* Remember user preferences

7. Data Security

Access to editorial information is restricted to authorized editorial personnel responsible for journal operations.

8. Data Sharing

* When required by applicable law or legal process.
* When necessary to investigate publication ethics concerns or research misconduct.
* When technical service providers assist in maintaining the journal platform under appropriate confidentiality obligations.

9. Data Retention

Editorial records, manuscript files, peer review records, and publication metadata are retained as part of the permanent scholarly record and journal administration. User account information is retained only for as long as necessary to support editorial operations and legal obligations.

10. User Rights

Users may request to:

* Update their account details.
* Close their journal account where appropriate.

Requests affecting published scholarly records will be considered in accordance with editorial policies and the integrity of the scholarly record.

11. Changes to This Privacy Statement
